The Science of Self – the origin and brain science behind DISC

Ron Bonstetter - TTI Success InsightsWe went right to the source to bring you this special series of podcasts that will help anyone who has ever taken a DISC and/or Motivators assessment learn more about the brain science behind this highly accurate and versatile tool that leaders use to help develop and build trust and communicate more effectively with their teams.

Becky Freemal, anchor for WFXR, will air a story we collaborated on focusing on the widespread use of DISC assessments through TTI Success Insights, the company our firm, Cortex Leadership, uses.  Every 7 seconds, day and night, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, someone takes a TTI SI assessment.  Dr. Ron Bonnstetter, Senior VP of Research and Development, says about TTI SI assessments, “A test implies a right or wrong answer, and our assessments expose who you are and what you are. And they expose your uniqueness… There’s nothing here that people don’t know, but they can’t give voice to these things. Our assessment actually gives voice to concepts we each know internally, but can’t express. And they give voice to another person so that when you have an interaction – you learn to dance much more quickly.”

What we’re really excited about is the podcast series we designed just for you!  It’s a 3-part series.  Here’s the breakdown.  Warning:  My mic was tuned very high AND I was super excited to be talking to someone who studies the brain in relationship to our assessments for a living so I might be a tad, well…over modulated.

CorCast EPISODE ONE:

What’s happening in your brain when you are taking a DISC assessment? You’ll find out in Episode 1.  Fast-forward to 11:24 and listen in.  TOTALLY fascinating!

 

CorCast EPISODE TWO:

What happens to your brain during a meeting?  As you have a 10-minute sweaty conversation, how does your brain react?  People are complicated.  Tune in to Episode 2 as Ron talks about what percentage a conversation should be listening and how trust can break down quickly.

CorCast EPISODE THREE:

In Episode 3 we discuss the new Driving Forces assessment that creates a more complex and specific understanding of why we act the way we do.  This new assessment is derived from the original Motivators assessment.
